A BILL
To require a briefing from a senior official of the Department of Defense on actions by the People's Republic of China in Africa that pose a threat to United States national security.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Countering Chinese Threats to U.S. National Security in Africa Act''.
SEC. 2. BRIEFING ON ACTIONS BY THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA IN AFRICA THAT POSE A THREAT TO UNITED STATES NATIONAL SECURITY.
Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense, acting through the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for African Affairs or another appropriate senior official of the Department of Defense, shall brief members of Congress on the actions by the People's Republic of China in Africa that pose a threat to United States national security and the plan of the Department to counter such threats. <all>
