How community debate works

Sourced arguments only. Every argument must cite a source — an unsourced point is not published. The link you cite is the evidence; we never present an argument as a verified fact.
Reviewer approval. Submissions are held until a reviewer approves them. Established contributors’ arguments may appear immediately, but everything stays subject to review and removal.
No personal attacks. Debate the evidence on a specific promise, not the person. Insults, harassment, and off-topic posts are removed.
Nonpartisan. StumpWatch takes no side. Arguments are weighed by their sources, not by who or which party they favor.

Stance taxonomy

Each community argument takes exactly one stance toward the promise it concerns:

Supports: evidence a promise is being kept
Challenges: evidence it is not
Context: relevant background that takes neither side

Community arguments and the debate / speech links contributors post are evidence — sourced pointers, not StumpWatch assessments and not promises. They never change a promise’s official status or rating.
