R. 9347 To include the identification of countries that are significant sources of xylazine in the annual International Narcotics Control Strategy Report. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES August 13, 2024 Mr. Fong (for himself and Ms. Spanberger) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To include the identification of countries that are significant sources of xylazine in the annual International Narcotics Control Strategy Report. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLES. This Act may be cited as the ``Strengthening Tracking Of Poisonous Tranq Requiring Analyzed National Quantification Act of 2024'' or the ``STOP TRANQ Act''. SEC. 2. INTERNATIONAL NARCOTICS CONTROL STRATEGY REPORT. Section 489(a)(11) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2291h(a)(11)) is amended-- (1) in subparagraph (A), by inserting ``, xylazine,'' after ``illicit fentanyl''; and (2) in subparagraph (D), by inserting ``)'' before the semicolon at the end. <all>
