aircraft, and for other purposes.

Mr. McGuire introduced the following bill; which was referred to the 
Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on 
Transportation and Infrastructure, for a period to be subsequently 
determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such 
provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL

To amend title 18, United States Code, to limit penalties relating to 
the destruction of aircraft to apply only with respect to manned 
aircraft, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ``Manned Aircraft Clarification Act''.

SEC. 2. CRIMINAL PENALTIES RELATING TO MANNED AIRCRAFT.

(a) Destruction of Manned Aircraft.--
(1) In general.--Section 32 of title 18, United States 
Code, is amended--
(A) in the section heading, by inserting ``manned'' 
before ``aircraft or'';
(B) in subsection (a)(1)--
(i) by inserting ``manned'' before 
``aircraft in the special aircraft 
jurisdiction''; and
(ii) by inserting ``manned'' before 
``civil''; and
(C) in subsection (b), by inserting ``manned'' 
before ``civil'' each place it appears.
(2) Table of sections amendment.--The table of sections for 
chapter 2 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by 
striking the item related to section 32 and inserting the 
following:

``32. Destruction of manned aircraft or aircraft facilities.''.
(b) Aircraft Piracy.--Section 46502(a)(1)(A) of title 49, United 
States Code, is amended by striking ``an aircraft'' and inserting ``a 
manned aircraft''.
