R. 6347 To reauthorize the Global Child Thrive Act of 2020, and for other purposes. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES December 2, 2025 Mr. Castro of Texas (for himself, Mr. McCormick, Mr. Olszewski, and Mr. Fitzpatrick) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To reauthorize the Global Child Thrive Act of 2020, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Global Child Thrive Reauthorization Act of 2025''. SEC. 2. APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL ADVISOR FOR ASSISTANCE TO ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN. Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State shall appoint a Special Advisor for Assistance to Orphans and Vulnerable Children, pursuant to section 135(e)(1) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2152f(e)(1)). SEC. 3. EXTENSION OF REQUIREMENT TO ISSUE IMPLEMENTING DIRECTIVES. Section 137(c) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2152k(c)) is amended by inserting ``and 6 years'' after ``1 year''. SEC. 4. EXTENSION OF AUTHORIZATION. Section 1283(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 (Public Law 116-283; referred to as the ``Global Child Thrive Act of 2020'') is amended by striking ``2025'' and inserting ``2030''. <all>
