Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Protecting Ballot Measures From Foreign Influence Act of 2025''. SEC. 2. PROHIBITION ON CONTRIBUTIONS AND DONATIONS BY FOREIGN NATIONALS IN CONNECTION WITH BALLOT INITIATIVES AND REFERENDA. (a) Prohibition.--Section 319(a)(1)(A) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (52 U.S.C. 30121(a)(1)(A)) is amended by inserting ``, or a State or local ballot initiative or ballot referendum'' after ``election''. (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by this section shall apply with respect to contributions and donations made on or after the date of enactment of this Act. <all>
