Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Welfare Abuse and Laundering Zillions Act'' or the ``WALZ Act''. SEC. 2. REQUIRING INVESTIGATIONS OF CERTAIN PAYMENT INCREASES UNDER HHS PROGRAMS. In the case that, with respect to any 6-month period, the total amount paid to providers of services and suppliers under a program administered by the Secretary of Health and Human Services increases by 10 percent or more as compared to the prior 6-month period, the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services shall open an investigation into such program. <all>
