Mr. Arrington introduced the following bill; which was referred to the 
Committee on Ways and Means, and in addition to the Committee on Energy 
and Commerce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the 
Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall 
within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL

To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to permit additional 
accrediting organizations to approve specialized MA plans for special 
needs individuals.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ``Improving MA SNP Act of 2026''.

SEC. 2. ACCREDITATION OF SPECIALIZED MA PLANS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS 
INDIVIDUALS.

Section 1859(f)(7) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395w-
28(f)(7)) is amended--
(1) in the heading, by striking ``NCQA approved'' and 
inserting ``approved by an accrediting organization'';
(2) by inserting ``, based on standards established by the 
Secretary,'' after ``approved''; and
(3) by striking ``(based on standards established by the 
Secretary)'' and inserting ``or, for 2026 and subsequent years, 
by any other private accrediting organization with an 
application approved under section 1852(e)(4)(C) determined 
appropriate by the Secretary''.
