RES. 956 Condemning the antisemitic shooting in Sydney, Australia, and all forms of hatred and violence directed at religious communities. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES December 17, 2025 Mr. Meeks (for himself and Mr. Mast) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs _______________________________________________________________________ RESOLUTION Condemning the antisemitic shooting in Sydney, Australia, and all forms of hatred and violence directed at religious communities. Whereas, on December 14, 2025, a gunman opened fire during a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney, Australia, resulting in loss of life, injuries, and terror within the Jewish community; Whereas this act of violence occurred during a sacred religious observance and was intended to intimidate and target individuals because of their Jewish identity; and Whereas the United States stands with Australia, with the Jewish community worldwide, and with all those affected by this heinous attack: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives-- (1) strongly condemns the antisemitic shooting in Sydney, Australia, and all forms of hatred and violence directed at religious communities; (2) expresses heartfelt condolences to the victims, their families, and the people of Australia; (3) affirms the right of all people to worship freely and safely; (4) reiterates the commitment of the United States to combating antisemitism and terrorism in all its forms; and (5) calls on the Australian Government to take action to address rising antisemitism and protect its Jewish community. <all>
