No legislation prohibiting online sales of firearms, ammunition, kits, or gun parts was enacted or proposed by the White House during Biden's term (Jan 2021-Jan 2025). The administration's published legislative requests, including the March 14, 2023 fact sheet accompanying his background-checks executive order, sought an assault weapons ban, universal background checks, safe storage, and repeal of gun-maker liability immunity, but not an online-sales prohibition. The closest action, the April 2022 ghost-gun rule, required commercial kit sellers to be licensed and run background checks; it regulated rather than prohibited online sales and was a rule, not legislation. The one major gun law he signed, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (June 25, 2022), contained no online-sales ban.
