Biden took no identifiable federal action to move firearm sales toward smart-gun technology during his term (Jan 2021-Jan 2025). Neither his April 2021 executive actions, his March 2023 executive order on background checks, nor his repeated legislative requests to Congress addressed smart guns, and the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (June 25, 2022) contained no smart-gun provisions. Even judged as an aspirational 'path,' the administration's published gun-policy record shows no funding push, mandate, or call to action on smart guns.
