Assessments
evidence-backed verdictsThese are sourced verdicts from fact-checkers or community evidence reviews — not opinions.
Beginning in 2021 the Biden administration directed federal resources toward preventing anti-transgender violence: it created the first Interagency Working Group on Safety, Opportunity, and Inclusion for Transgender and Gender Diverse Individuals, and on November 20, 2021 the White House documented more than 45 agency actions addressing the root causes of anti-transgender violence, which disproportionately affects transgender women of color. Related measures included a 2021 executive order on missing and murdered Indigenous people that addressed violence against LGBTQI+ Native Americans. The promise as stated - directing federal resources to help prevent this violence - was carried out.
