Government Executive confirms ICE grew from ~10,000 to "more than 22,000" officers and agents (DHS's own most-favorable framing) — a 120% increase, i.e. more than doubled but short of the promised tripling (~30,000). NOTUS confirms the weaker independent OPM figure of only ~5,368 net growth (7,114 hired minus 1,746 departures), implying a total closer to ~15,000. PolitiFact confirms the first-term version of this same promise was rated "Promise Broken."
