Fully KeptImmigration & Border Security

When I am elected, I will suspend immigration from areas of the world when there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe or our allies, until we understand how to end these threats.

Fully KeptFact-checker reviewConfidence: 95%

Independently verified. As president, Trump signed and drove the executive actions fulfilling this promise: EO 13769 (Jan 27, 2017), its replacement EO 13780 (March 6, 2017), and Presidential Proclamation 9645 (Sept 2017), suspending entry of nationals from designated countries with a history of terrorism (Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen; later expanded). The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the ban 5-4 in Trump v. Hawaii (June 26, 2018), and the restrictions remained in force until rescinded in Jan 2021. PolitiFact's Trump-O-Meter (promise #1402) independently rates this exact promise 'Promise Kept.' Both cited sources confirmed live and supportive; the White House archive EO is a genuine primary document. The same standard would yield 'Promise Kept'/FULL for any party: a candidate who campaigned on a policy, enacted it by executive order, had it upheld by SCOTUS, and kept it in force through his term. FULL (not CHAMPIONED) is correct because the policy was actually implemented and sustained, not merely attempted.
