I will get rid of gun-free zones on schools, and — you have to — and on military bases on my first day.

Both cited sources are reachable and support the IGNORED outcome for this specific promise. PolitiFact's Trump-O-Meter entry #1356 tracks exactly this promise ("get rid of gun-free zones on schools, and...on military bases"), rates it Promise Broken, and contains the verbatim quote "Trump has made scant progress on eliminating gun-free zones" (July 15, 2020). The Military.com article confirms that as late as Feb 2018 Trump only said he would "look at that whole policy on military bases" and documents that no policy actually changed — an expression of intent, not concrete action. Within his unilateral executive authority over military bases he took no step, and on schools (statutory, requiring Congress) he championed no repeal. Rhetoric only, nothing concrete = IGNORED, not overstated. Note a trivial variance in the second quote: the source reads "I'm going to look at that whole policy" whereas the rating expands the contraction to "I am"; the substantive phrase matches verbatim, so it is not a fabrication.
