“At the center of our plan for economic relief are massive tax cuts for workers—and that includes NO TAX ON TIPS. That means if you are a restaurant worker, bartender, hospitality worker, caddy, barber, mover, driver, or anyone else who relies on tip income, your tips will be 100% YOURS.”

Assessments
evidence-backed verdictsThese are sourced verdicts from fact-checkers or community evidence reviews — not opinions.
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Public Law 119-21), signed July 4, 2025, created a federal income-tax deduction for qualified tips of up to $25,000 per year, effective for tax years 2025 through 2028 and phasing out above $150,000 modified AGI ($300,000 for joint filers). That delivers the core no-tax-on-tips pledge against income tax for most tipped workers, but tips are not "100% yours" as promised: the relief is capped, temporary, income-limited, and structured as an income-tax deduction rather than a complete exemption of tip income from federal taxation.
