PartialFact-checker reviewConfidence: 80%

The travel ban half was kept: a June 4, 2025 proclamation fully suspended entry of nationals of 12 countries and partially restricted 7 more, effective June 9, 2025, and was expanded by a further proclamation in December 2025. The Title 42 half was not fulfilled as stated: the administration's actual use of Title 42 public-health authority (a revision of 42 CFR 71.40 announced May 22, 2026) suspends entry over an Ebola outbreak in Central and East Africa, not child trafficking. A separate ICE welfare-check initiative has located unaccompanied children placed with sponsors, but no Title 42 mechanism returning trafficked children to their families exists as of July 3, 2026.
