Assessments
evidence-backed verdictsThese are sourced verdicts from fact-checkers or community evidence reviews — not opinions.
The energy-production half was acted on: the day-one Executive Order 14154 (January 20, 2025) directed expanded energy production on federal lands and waters, and executive orders signed May 23, 2025 - including EO 14302 - directed a rapid expansion of nuclear power, including reactor licensing deadlines and new build targets. The inflation half did not materialize: 12-month CPI inflation ran near 2.4-3 percent through 2025 - not 'immediately' slashed from the roughly 3 percent pace he inherited - and rose to 4.2 percent by May 2026, its highest since April 2023, driven largely by an energy price shock. Production-unleashing measures were delivered, but inflation was not slashed.
