Trump stood with Israel, including joint U.S.-Israeli military operations against Iran, and worked with Arab partners, brokering a Gaza ceasefire and signing the October 13, 2025 Sharm el-Sheikh declaration with Egypt, Qatar and Turkiye committing to diplomatic resolution of disputes. Results were mixed: by March 2026 next-phase Gaza negotiations (Hamas disarmament, Israeli withdrawal) were suspended, and the U.S. fought a roughly three-and-a-half-month war against Iran beginning February 2026 before an agreement to end it was announced in June 2026. Alliance-building and peace-seeking demonstrably occurred, but the promised regional stability and peace were only partly realized as of July 2026.
