Trump made this pledge at the NRA convention on April 14, 2023, so it is rated on his second term through July 2, 2026. No such tax credit has been enacted or formally proposed: the administration's signature tax law (H.R. 1, signed July 2025) rewrote numerous individual credits and deductions but contains no provision reimbursing teachers for concealed-carry firearms or training, and searches surface no administration bill or budget request for one. With unified party control of Congress and a major tax vehicle available in 2025, the opportunity existed and was not engaged.
