On January 20, 2025, his first day back in office, Trump signed Executive Order 14168, which instructs every federal agency to end federal funding of gender ideology and to remove and cease all statements, policies, regulations, and communications that promote it, with no age limitation. A companion order, EO 14187 (January 28, 2025), separately targeted transition-related medical programs for people under 19. Trump reaffirmed the signing in his March 4, 2025 address to Congress; parts of the orders' implementation drew litigation, but the promised executive order was signed essentially as described.
