Booker voted for the Inflation Reduction Act (passed the Senate Aug 7, 2022, signed into law), which for the first time lets Medicare negotiate prescription-drug prices and caps seniors' out-of-pocket costs — a concrete delivery on lowering drug costs. He also reintroduced the Prescription Drug Affordability and Access Act (July 30, 2024) to create a federal drug-pricing agency, which did not advance. A real law was delivered on the drug-cost piece, but broader health-access expansion remains incomplete.
