Cruz co-authored the IVF Protection Act (S.4368) with Sen. Katie Britt and repeatedly sought its passage by unanimous consent in 2024, but it was blocked by Senate Democratic objection and did not become law. Through 2026-07-16 no federal IVF statutory protection has been enacted. Cruz personally led and pushed the effort, but delivery fell short, so it is a championed-but-blocked attempt rather than a kept promise.
