(1) The promise is explicitly conditioned on holding the office of governor ('As governor, Blackburn commits to...'). Blackburn is not governor of Tennessee. Wikipedia's 2026 Tennessee gubernatorial election article confirms she is a declared Republican primary candidate, that Bill Lee is the term-limited incumbent, and that the primary is August 6, 2026 with the general November 3, 2026 — neither has occurred as of the review date (July 21, 2026). She therefore has had no authority over Tennessee K-12 curriculum and no genuine opportunity to keep or break this specific promise.
