Verified via primary source: U.S. Senate's official senator roster (senate.gov) lists Michigan's two current senators as Gary Peters (D) and Elissa Slotkin (D) — Mike Rogers is NOT among them. Wikipedia corroborates that Rogers left the U.S. House in January 2015, lost the 2024 Michigan Senate race to Slotkin by ~19,000 votes, and announced an April 2025 candidacy for the OTHER Michigan Senate seat (2026 race vs. Abdul El-Sayed). Rogers therefore holds no vote, sponsorship, cosponsorship, or executive authority through which to actually oppose or roll back the federal EV mandate. His campaign website (rogersforsenate.com) does not even substantively address EV mandates as a current campaign position — only a general 'bringing manufacturing jobs back home' line. Campaign rhetoric by an out-of-office candidate is neither ATTEMPTED (no vote to cast, no bill to advance) nor CHAMPIONED (no legislative vehicle to sponsor). NO_OPPORTUNITY is the correct outcome — he has no genuine institutional opportunity to act on this promise during the promise window. Prior confidence (0.15) was appropriately low but understated because the prior researcher could not retrieve primary sources; this pass confirms via the Senate's own roster.
