Assessments

evidence-backed verdicts

These are sourced verdicts from fact-checkers or community evidence reviews — not opinions.

ChampionedFact-checker reviewConfidence: 90%

Independently verified two primary sources. (1) House Clerk Roll Call 93 (March 18, 2021) confirms Valadao voted Yea on H.R. 1603 Farm Workforce Modernization Act, final tally 247-174 with only 30 of 203 House Republicans voting Yea — Valadao was among that small GOP minority. (2) Valadao's official March 9, 2021 press release confirms he was an announced cosponsor of the bipartisan bill and publicly championed it, invoking his personal experience as a Central Valley dairy farmer and son of immigrants. This clearly exceeds a single supporting vote — cosponsorship plus public advocacy meets the CHAMPIONED bar. Bill passed House but died in Senate, so promise not fully enacted. Applied a nonpartisan lens: any legislator (any party) with cosponsorship + Yea + public championing statement on the promised bill would be rated CHAMPIONED. Confidence held at 0.9.
