The FEC's own candidate database confirms he filed a Statement of Candidacy on 2026-01-31 for U.S. House Colorado District 8 (FEC ID H6CO08013, 2026 cycle, Challenger). A state-legislative seat has no jurisdiction over federal Social Security or Medicare, and the CO-08 general election is not until Nov 3, 2026, so no genuine federal legislative opportunity has arisen.
