Assessments
evidence-backed verdictsThese are sourced verdicts from fact-checkers or community evidence reviews — not opinions.
Independently verified via the Colorado General Assembly's official SB25-145 page: prime sponsors are Sen. Kipp and Reps. Lindsay and Zokaie; Rep. M. Rutinel is listed among the House co-sponsors. The bill requires sellers who allow online sign-up for automatic-renewal contracts to provide an online cancellation mechanism, directly matching the promise. Signed by Gov. Polis June 3, 2025 (Ch. 368, 2025 Session Laws); effective August 6, 2025. Rutinel co-sponsored (more than a bare vote) but was not the lead architect, so FULL fulfillment of the promise (the law was enacted) is the correct label rather than CHAMPIONED. Confidence 0.85 is appropriate; same standard would apply to a Republican co-sponsor of an equivalently-enacted bill.
