Independently verified. Medicare buy-in is federal legislation set by the U.S. Congress. Christina Bohannan has never held federal office: she served in the Iowa House of Representatives (85th district) from January 11, 2021 to January 9, 2023 - a state legislature with no authority over Medicare. She was the Democratic U.S. House nominee for Iowa's 1st district in 2022 (lost to Miller-Meeks) and 2024 (lost by ~799 votes after recount). She announced her 2026 candidacy on June 17, 2025 and won the June 2026 Democratic primary; the general election has not occurred. Her campaign site's Priorities page confirms the promise wording verbatim ('buy into Medicare at any age... increase competition, expand choice, and bring down costs'). She has therefore had no genuine opportunity to sponsor, vote on, or advance federal Medicare buy-in legislation. This same NO_OPPORTUNITY standard would apply to any non-incumbent candidate of any party promising federal action. Prior rating stands.
