Independently re-verified all three primary sources on kaptur.house.gov. Kaptur is Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water and currently leads the GLRI Act of 2025 reauthorization. On Aug 12, 2026 she announced a $32.34M GLRI award to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority for Lower Maumee River sediment remediation. On Aug 1, 2026, as bipartisan Co-Chair of the Congressional Great Lakes Task Force, she led a letter urging the administration to lift the July 24, 2026 stop-work order on the Brandon Road Lock and Dam invasive-carp barrier. This is well beyond a single supporting vote and squarely matches CHAMPIONED (actively led/sponsored/drove the effort).
