Independently verified both primary sources on mackenzie.house.gov. The July 29, 2026 press release confirms Mackenzie is introducing his own Candidate Investment Transparency and Ethics (CITE) Act of 2026, quoted: 'The best way to stop members of Congress from trading stocks is to prevent them from ever starting.' The July 23, 2026 press release explicitly states 'the Stop Insider Trading Act, of which the Congressman was an original cosponsor, prohibits members of Congress...' and notes his co-sponsorship of TRUST in Congress Act and Restore Trust in Congress Act. Introducing his own legislation, plus original co-sponsorship of a bill that cleared the House, plus multiple additional bipartisan co-sponsorships, constitutes active leadership well beyond a single supporting vote. Applying the same nonpartisan standard, a Democrat with this identical record would warrant CHAMPIONED. Rating stands.
